Hi, I'm Kate

I am a very-tall, pug-cross loving, shopping obsessed, super nerdy pun-enthusiast and way back in 2007 (after cutting my teeth in the magazine industry) I started my first blog, Drop Dead Gorgeous Daily from scratch.

I had no idea what I was doing.

I didn't even realise it was a blog (I didn't even know what a blog was to be honest!)

But I must have done something right as DDG grew to have over 500,000 readers a month, with multiple 6-figure revenue and 5 staff.

And now I want to show other bloggers and online business owners how they can do it too, because if I can, any one can, once they know how (but much, much quicker of course!)

And that is why I created this blog, Secret Bloggers Business, and why I created my much-loved online courses; Bloggers MBA, Start Your Blog With A Bang, Ready Set Blog and the Blog Squad & Boss Squad community.

I'm so excited that you have dropped in to say Hi!

And PS - The weather up here is just fine, thanks for asking!

If you are new to my part of the Internet then here are a few things you might like to do first!

  1. Join the Secret Blogger's Society. It's a FREE online club for bloggers and online business owners and members get a whole heap of benefits, like access to our exclusive Facebook community, monthly blogging planners & prompts, a bi-monthly blogging magazine, first dibs of courses and events and loads more! JOIN IN THE FUN NOW!
  2. Read this blog post. It's one of my favourites, and covers off all the biggest lessons I have learned from running my two successful blogging business for the past too-many-to-count years.
  3. Check out (and get your name on the wait list for) the Boss Squad & Blog Squad. My one-of-a-kind online community and coaching hub for bloggers and business owners.

One thing I get asked again and again is how I turned my little shoe-money side-project into an amazingly rewarding and profitable business.

Well, it's just that. I've always treated my blogging like a business. And you can too!

I was lucky enough to have a background in both publishing and advertising, and a degree in business as well, so I had a head start.  The rest I learned the good old fashioned way, with nearly ten years of trial and error, hard work, and occasionally even a few tears.

Over my blogging journey I have created my own collection of nail polishes with Revlon, been the official blogger for LÓreal Melbourne Fashion Week (twice), sat front row at New York Fashion Week, been named the Female Tech Entrepreneur of The Year (2015), been nominated for Cosmopolitan magazine's Fun Fearless Female awards and the B&T Women in Media awards, and named one of Anthill's 30 under 30 entrepreneurs. I guess you could say, I know my stuff!

Now I've turned my biggest blogging and business lessons into six different online courses and programs for bloggers and online business owners.

What are people saying about SBB?

  • Upon making some of the changes recommended from your free workshops, I saw my traffic soar from less than 10,000 visits per month to nearly 50,000!

  • The most invaluable part of the course was the insider knowledge from Kate who has 'been there and done that' to break down each part of the process into step-by step chunks. Kate is super approachable and being able to ask questions and having her support along the way made the whole process enjoyable!

  • Blog to Boss helped me save so much time in figuring out the nuts and bolts of the how to plan and launch my eBook. I had been putting off launching my first digital product for a while and B2B was a complete game changer in terms of helping me stay accountable, keep motivated and on track. But the most invaluable part of the course was the insider knowledge from Kate who has 'been there and done that' to break down each part of the process into step-by step chunks. Kate is super approachable and being able to ask questions and having her support along the way made the whole process enjoyable! I'm over the moon to have launched my first eBook Glow and will be able to easily transfer this knowledge into eProducts I create in the future - thank you Kate!

  • This course absolutely changed the way I think about blogging and moreover it's made blogging more fun for me. I has definitely focused and centered my content, and in addition to helping me come up with AMAZING ideas for income generation (in my humble opinion), the course has also provided an awesome community of bloggers and entrepreneurs with whom I can bounce these ideas around. Kate makes building a viable online business that I love from a faraway fantasy to an achievable, do-able reality. And you don't have to be a super-advanced, techie geek to get there. Yes, it's hard work, but this course has made it so easy and fun.

  • Hands down one of the best investments I've ever made for my business. A game-changing course filled with information, support and guidance that is top notch on all levels. Kate's course gave me the skills, confidence and drive to create a product that is not only profitable but packed with value that I'm incredibly proud of. After the amazing success of my first course Digital Bravery (which was created during Blog to Boss), I'm now already on my second course, with plans for another later this year and already brainstorming other digital products. Kate killed it in this course! So grateful I made the investment which at first felt like a lot and now I pinch myself for not investing in myself sooner - it has changed the way I look at investing in my business, a small drop in the bucket compared to what you could possibly earn.
